Kames Capital strengthens team with new hire
Kames Capital has bolstered its fixed income team with a new credit research appointment.
The firm has hired Laurent Frings, who has more than 22 years professional experience, as lead of credit research.
Mr Frings’ previous roles include global head of credit research, at both Aberdeen Asset Management and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) and credit analyst at Morley Fund Management.
His appointment came as Kames Capital looked to strengthen its fixed income team following the recent departures.
At Aberdeen Asset Management Mr Frings was responsible for developing its global credit research process, credit research for financial institutions and contributing to its EMEA credit strategy discussions.
It followed a similar role at SWIP.
Reporting to Adrian Hull, Kames Capital’s head of fixed income, Mr Frings will be responsible for credit research supporting the investment managers with their strategies.
Mr Hull said: “Laurent is extremely experienced with over 20 years of working in fixed income markets and I am very pleased he is joining us, bringing his wealth of knowledge of global credit markets.
“He will work closely with our investment managers to develop ideas and strategies.
Kames Capital’s chief investment officer, Stephen Jones, said: “We believe Laurent’s skill set fits perfectly into our team based approach to fixed income and with his experience he will provide some valuable insight in support of the team.
“His appointment underlines our commitment to the fixed income market and highlights how we will move quickly and decisively to hire individuals, where appropriate, if we feel they can add value to our team and investment process.”
