Advisers continue to seek returns from around the world, with figures from FundsNetwork revealing the global sector remained the most popular during July.

Fundsmith Equity was both the bestselling fund overall, and most popular choice for ISA investors last month, while Vanguard LifeStrategy 40% Equity Fund topped the list of bestselling pension funds.

Paul Richards, head of sales at FundsNetwork, said: “Uncertainty seems to be something of a key theme for 2019, both politically and economically. Indeed, our research with NextWealth found that a quarter (25%) of advisers concerned by business challenges are worried about how stock market performance and geopolitical risk might impact upon investor behaviour*.

“The Global Sector has proven one of the most popular sectors throughout the year, offering opportunities to diversify and buffer portfolios against volatile markets.

“With the outlook for the remainder of the year similarly unpredictable, many advisers will be looking to weather the storm and reassure clients over the coming months.”
