Expanding Chartered Financial Planner Lumin Wealth has acquired the mortgages arm of RBS Associates for an undisclosed sum.

The move comes after the tie-up between mortgage adviser Davidson Deem and Lumin Wealth in June 2023, which added mortgages to Lumin Wealth’s services.

Lumin offers advice on investments, pensions, inheritance and tax planning, and financial protection for business and family.

As part of the tie-up RBS Associates partner Mark Spurling will be joined at Lumin Wealth by administrator Amy Spurling, and personal assistant Sally Jarvis. Mr Spurling has been providing mortgages services since 1992.

Davidson Deem, established in 1987, is led by directors Peter Stokes and Brian Keane. It is a ‘whole of market’ mortgage adviser.

Lumin Wealth is a Chartered firm and has offices in St. Albans, London, Bishop’s Stortford, Beaconsfield and Reading.

Lumin has more than 90 employees, including a team of financial advisers and support staff servicing the wealth management needs of 4,000 clients. Lumin’s clients includes individuals, companies, trusts, and charities. Lumin has been part of VZ Group, a Swiss financial services firm, since May 2021.

Lumin has expanded rapidly in recent years with a number of acquisitions. In February Lumin it acquired Berkshire-based £50m AUM Financial Planner Professional Financial Centre - PFC (Thames Valley). The deal was the wider Lumin VZ Group’s ninth acquisition since 2019.

Lumin was founded in 2010 by Martin Cotter and John Cusins. It merged with Swiss financial services provider VZ Group in May 2021.
