Ex-IFP president made senior partner at wealth advisory firm
Former IFP president Julie Lord has been appointed a senior client partner at Towry after the firm opened its new Cardiff office.
The opening takes the wealth advisory company's number of offices across the UK to 21, having also recently set up in Knutsford as well.
The Cardiff office has 15 Towry staff including six wealth advisers and had previously been providing Financial Planning and investment services in the Cardiff area under the Bluefin brand.
It was acquired by Towry, which manages over £6bn of client assets, last September.
Ms Lord said: "Clients in Cardiff and the surrounding area are now able to benefit from the broad range of Financial Planning and wealth management services that Towry offers.
"We are looking forward to developing existing client relationships, and to building new ones."
Andy Cowan, head of wealth advice at Towry, said: "We are thrilled to have expanded our national reach into Wales as we continue our strategic growth in the wealth advice industry.
"We are also pleased to announce Julie Lord's appointment as senior client partner. It is great news for Towry to have someone with her expertise and leadership skills."

To celebrate the opening around 40 clients and contacts joined employees at the office, in Helmont House, Churchill Way, for a Wimbledon-themed opening event complete with strawberries and cream and a live showing of this year's tournament.
Ms Lord was recently part of a five strong team which completed an epic cycle challenge from London to Paris in aid of the IFP's chief executive Nick Cann, who suffered a stroke last year.
Cycling along with Nick's wife Jo, they managed to raise £30,000 for The Stroke Association.
The 300 mile ride took four days to complete.
