Baillie Gifford has been named Best Fund House in the 2020 Morningstar UK Fund Awards.

The awards recognise the retail funds and fund groups that added the most value for investors within key sectors and across asset classes.

Baillie Gifford topped the Best Equity Fund House and Best Fund House Overall sections with Barings winning the Best Fixed-Income Fund House section.

In the fund category sectors Fidelity, Ardevora, Royal London, MI Chelverton, Rathbone and Kames topped the sections (see below).

To select its winners, Morningstar uses quantitative methodology and says eligible funds require a five-year performance track record.

Weightings to one-, three-, and five-year performance are factored in, along with a qualitative overlay.

The fund category and fund house awards are based on Morningstar fund data as at 31 December 2019.
