Schroders Personal Wealth, the Financial Planning business launched by Schroders and Lloyds Bank, is to sponsor up-and-coming international para-rower Ben Pritchard.

Schroders Personal Wealth’s sponsorship will be used to buy Mr Pritchard a new wheelchair, help him complete his training and support him on his journey to Paralympics success.

Mr Pritchard was paralysed from the ribcage down following a cycling accident in 2016. At the time he was working in the City and regularly competed in triathlons in his spare time.

During his rehabilitation at Stoke Mandeville spinal centre Mr Pritchard took up rowing and was quickly spotted by British rowing staff, joining the Team GB para development squad in 2017.

He is the para-rowing indoor 2,000m world record holder. He also holds the world record for the indoor 1,000m with a time of 3:46.5 which he broke in Cardiff in 2018.

Mr Pritchard recently gave up his City job to become a full-time athlete and focus his efforts on the Tokyo Olympic games.
