Old Mutual Wealth has strengthened its adviser facing support through the appointment of a new pensions specialist from Scottish Widows.

Martin Clubbs will be responsible for development and growth of Old Mutual Wealth’s platform business and will focus on the individual pensions market.

He has joined with over 20 years’ experience in the pensions and investment industry and previously worked for Scottish Widows as a strategic relationships manager.

In this role, he was responsible for managing a team of business development managers and key adviser relationships for corporate pensions business in the north of England.

This latest hire is part of Old Mutual Wealth’s drive to increase support for financial advisers following April’s pension reforms.

Since 2015 Old Mutual Wealth has doubled the size of its specialist support team from 8 to 16 and employed 75 new members in its telephone contact centre. It is also currently recruiting to double its number of office-based adviser support consultants to 20.
