eVestor, the new online investment advice business, has appointed a new technical development director to deliver the firm's new online and app based propositions.

Dave McKerral’s appointment comes after eVestor’s recent acquisition of Postcard Planning, a Financial Planning company set up and run by chartered Financial Planner Rohan Sivajoti.

The robo-adviser, launched in December and founded by Anthony Morrow, is backed by Duncan Cameron, who helped set up MoneySupermarket.

Mr McKerral has joined from Ascribe Limited, where he managed several large scale projects and builds and will now be responsible for building and overseeing an internal team to deliver the business’s online and app based propositions, which are due to go live later this year.

He will also sit on the board with co-founders Anthony Morrow and Duncan Cameron along with Mr Sivajoti, who has been appointed advisory services director.

“The fact that Dave’s background is not in financial services was important when appointing him to lead the technology side of the proposition. He brings a completely fresh perspective, which will be hugely beneficial for the user experience something that the industry does not have a great track record with.”

Mr McKerral, said: “It is a fantastic opportunity to be involved with a venture from the offset, and to be working with Anthony and Duncan to create something with the potential to play a massive part in the future of financial advice.

“My own experience from outside the industry suggests that there is plenty of scope to improve how the customer can consume advice and invest their savings.
