A Chartered Financial Planner will be sharing her top tips at a free event for local people emphasising the importance of preparing for retirement.
The event, primarily for people in this forties and fifties considering their retirement options, will consist of a free information session aimed at providing useful tips for maximising a solid financial future.
Led by Dundee-based Thorntons Investments the sessions entitled ‘Are you on track for the retirement you want?’ will help attendees explore whether their retirement plans are fit for what they want to do after their years of working.
The one-hour session will be run on Friday 23 August, Wednesday 4 September and Wednesday 25 September.
Rachel Anderson, solicitor at Thorntons Solicitors, will be discussing the importance of succession planning including wills, Powers of Attorney, and Inheritance Tax planning.
Chartered Financial Planner, Susan Bennett, from Thorntons Investments, will meanwhile be sharing her top tips for planning effectively for retirement.
She said: “Many of us simply file away our pension statements each year in the hope that we are saving enough, but will that allow you to lead the lifestyle you want?
“Some of the most common questions that people ask themselves include ‘when do I want to retire?’ ‘How much money do I need to complete my bucket list?’
“You ought to be asking ourselves those questions and many more well before your preferred retirement age.
“Our forthcoming seminar will help you to answer those questions.”
Ms Anderson added: “When it comes to planning for the future, speaking to a solicitor about putting your affairs in order is a sensible step.
“We can advise people on how to protect and manage their assets for the future.”
