Carbon Financial explains Financial Planning in Germany
Managing director of Carbon Financial Gordon Wilson recently travelled to Germany to explain all about UK Financial Planning.
Carbon Financial is an IFP Accredited Financial Planning Firm with offices in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Perth.
Writing in the firm's newsletter, Mr Wilson said he was asked to speak to German business owners in Munich, Hamburg and Frankfurt.
His presentations looked at how to run a 'new model' Financial Planning practice and make the transition from commission-based to fee-based advice. Advice firms in Germany are very dependent on commission, in contrast to the regulatory environment in the UK.
Mr Wilson, who has worked at Carbon Financial for almost three years, has since been invited back to give further presentations to advisers in Germany and Austria.

As well as Mr Wilson's visits to Germany, board members from German advice firm MLP avisited Carbon Financial at its Edinburgh office.
The firm was keen to learn about how to run a business where the focus was on providing Financial Planning rather than products.
MLP has 3,000 advisers and £20bn in funds under management but Carbon said the firm found it useful to see Financial Planning in action.
