World Cup winner Woodward joins Financial Planning festival
England’s World Cup winning rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward will headline the new Festival of Financial Planning, which has already got 1,000 delegates registered.
The Personal Finance Society this morning revealed the line up for its November event, including Sir Clive, who will provide insights on developing a winning mindset.
Former pensions ministers Baroness Ros Altman and Sir Steve Webb are among the other high profile speakers.
There will be Festival Radio, powered by Chartered Financial Planner Martin Bamford, the MD at Surrey firm Informed Choice, who runs a popular podcast.
PFS chief executive Keith Richards said more than 1,000 delegates had already registered.
He said: “Initial demand for the event has been phenomenal and demonstrates the appetite to experience something different from the norm. We’re expecting this to increase even further now that we’re able to release more details about this exciting new Festival concept.
“We are truly breaking new ground with this year’s Festival of Financial Planning. Where else can you gain insights into policy from recent pensions ministers, regulators and market experts, and then jump behind the wheel of a Tesla Model S?”
The PFS is aiming to distinguish the festival will from a typical conference. There will be entertainment, live music and a village green, with more than 70 workshops, panel discussions and keynote sessions to be run concurrently.
JP Morgan Asset Management chief market strategist Stephanie Flanders and 7IM founder Justin Urquhart Stewart will explain the likely impact of Brexit on the Financial Planning sector, while Richard Mullender will share his experiences as a former hostage and crisis negotiator at Scotland Yard.
Financial Planning coach Paul Armson from Inspiring Advisers will offer insights on delivering a compelling client value proposition.
The flagship conference will take place in Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre from 7 to 8 November.
