Chartered Financial Planner Tamsin Caine has been promoted at Accredited Financial Planning Firm Smart Financial to become head of Financial Planning.
Ms Caine CFPTM Chartered MCSI has been with the Altrincham-based company, run by Chartered Financial Planner Steve Martin CFPTM Chartered MCSI, for two-and-a-half years.
Ashley Burrows Brown has also been hired as a trainee planner.
Mr Martin said: “Since she joined us, Tamsin has taken an ever increasing position of responsibility for our direction or travel – so Financial Planning and client care. It was recognition that actually, she wasn’t just acting as a planner, but she was operating more strategically.”
Ms Caine told FP Today: “I’m absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity.
“We are aiming to build the number of clients we are able to work with through a structured programme of recruitment of young trainees and organic growth.
“My main focus for the remainder of 2017, other than looking after our clients, will be on taking on more of the T&C responsibilities of the business, which have previously been looked after by Steve. This is particularly relevant as we train and develop Ashley.”
The firm has six internal staff on its books, with Mr Burrows Brown in training to become a planner. He is the firm’s third graduate.
Mr Martin said Mr Burrows Brown will work towards CFP status in his three years with the company.
Mr Martin said: “In year one he will do administrative tasks and bag carrying and basic learning of the ropes, and answering the phone. In his second year he will take on more of a technical role and by the end of his second year he will be Chartered. In his third year he will start to take some responsibility for client relationships in his own name, while completing his CFP.”
