Inheritance tax (IHT) receipts rose to £0.5bn in April, a £10m rise year-on-year.

Families have made close to 32,000 successful reclaims for overpaid inheritance tax in the past six years, according to HMRC.

Inheritance tax receipts for April 2021 to March 2022 were £6.1bn, a rise of £0.7bn year-on-year, according to the latest figures from HMRC.
