The director general of the Association of British Insurers will leave his role to head up the National Employment Savings Trust, lured by the prospect of playing a role in the pensions revolution.

A new tool has been launched by the National Employment Savings Trust to help advisers working with companies on auto-enrolment to cut through long winded processes and save time.

Demand from employers has created a "new breed" of advisers who are experts in automatic enrolment, the National Employment Savings Trust says, two years on from the scheme's introduction.
