Former Pensions Minister Baroness Altmann has called on policymakers to look at other ways to solve rising state pension costs than raising the starting age, cutting the amount or more means-testing.

Fairness in pensions is very important, particularly when it comes to the State Pension. It is sadly, increasingly missing from Government pension policy.

Work and Pensions Secretary Mel Stride told MPs in the Commons today that the rise in the State Pension Age to 68 will be put on hold.

A damning report by the Institute for Fiscal Studies out today reveals that the increase in the state pension age from 65 to 66 has condemned many more retirees to poverty.
