Financial Planners need to improve their knowledge of philanthropy, with just 5% confident about advising clients in this area, according to a new report.

Cheshire-based Financial Planner Equilibrium has hit a landmark total of £1m in donations to good causes through its charitable giving arm The Equilibrium Foundation.

West Country Financial Planning firm Old Mill has handed £50,000 to local good causes through its charitable fund which has awarded 40 grants and supported more than 4,000 people across Somerset, Devon and Wiltshire in three years.
