Wealth manager and platform Quilter says the ‘stronger nudge’ towards pensions guidance, introduced a year ago, has so far produced “lacklustre” results and needs to be beefed up.

Stephen Timms MP, chair of the Work and Pensions Committee, has submitted an amendment to the Pension Schemes Bill going through Parliament which would make pension guidance appointments automatic.

A senior executive at retirement provider Just Group has called for pension savers in their early 50s to have pensions guidance sessions with the government’s Pension Wise service “automatically” booked for them.
