The Treasury Committee has begun a new inquiry into tax reliefs.

More than one in four people (27%) say they have never heard of pension tax relief amid widespread pension ignorance which may be holding back retirement saving.

Think-tank The Social Market Foundation has called for the tax-free ISA allowance to be cut with the money saved used to reward saving by young people on low incomes.
