Accredited Financial Planning firm hires two new planners
Two Chartered Financial Planners have joined an Aberdeen based Financial Planning firm.
Acumen Financial Planning, an Accredited firm through the IFP, now the CISI, has also hired a new compliance and training manager.
The company, which serves over 1700 clients across the UK, now employs 29 staff over five sites across the country with the most recent office in Elgin opening in 2014.
Naill Sharry, the most recent recruit, has over 30 years’ experience in Financial Planning and corporate financial roles.
His role will be working with private clients, contractors and business owners on all aspects of Financial Planning and Retirement Planning.
Sue Williamson has 20 years’ experience in the sector, specialising in Financial Planning for private clients, including retirement, pensions and Financial Planning through divorce.
New compliance head Alan Whittle joins the team with significant experience in compliance and technical roles in Aberdeen and Edinburgh. He is Deputy President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Aberdeen.
Sandy Robertson CFPTM Chartered FCSI, the managing director, set up Acumen 14 years ago.
He said: “We are delighted to have Sue, Alan and Niall join our team. They bring a significant amount of experience to Acumen Financial Planning.
“Whilst we expect 2016 to be a challenging year for many, particularly in the Aberdeen area, there remains a clear need for pro-active and innovative financial planning – indeed perhaps even more so for those going through unexpected changes in employment, with a requirement to review their options for redundancy or pensions.
Notwithstanding, we remain focused on our plan to build a team of outstanding people who will deliver exceptional service to clients long into the future.”
He said the flooding and poor weather which hit Aberdeen earlier this year has not dampened the spirits or ambition of his team.
The firm was a finalist in the IFP Recognising Excellence Awards 2015 and was commended for its strong impact on the profession.
