Biggest Financial Planning event of the year begins
The biggest Financial Planning event of the year is set to get underway this morning.
The CISI expects 458 people to attend the Financial Planning Annual Conference from today until Wednesday.
More than 300 Financial Planners will be pouring into Wales to attend the event at Celtic Manor, starting today. It kicks off with a meeting exclusively for Accredited Financial Planning Firms, before another special session only for Chartered Fellows on the future of the profession, from 11.45am.

Expect a miracle a month, planners to be told
Among the keynote speakers during the three days will be Noel Maye, CEO of the global Financial Planning Standards Board. Mr Maye is scheduled to address the group on day 2.
He said: “I am pleased to participate in CISI’s conference and update the UK planning community on FPSB’s progress in establishing Financial Planning as a global profession, with the CFP marks its symbol of excellence.
“CISI’s efforts to foster professionalism and increase access to those seeking a career in Financial Planning greatly support FPSB’s efforts to position CFP certification as the must-have designation for the consumers and providers of financial planning advice.”
Sessions will cover:
Day 1 – Integrity and risk, investments and tax, retirement planning and divorce, practice management
Day 2 – Personal development, understanding risks and opportunities, regulatory news, the six steps of Financial Planning
Day 3 – Driving Paraplanning forward, growing your business and developing your people, the six steps of Financial Planning
