CCLA enters UK fund market with ESG launch
Responsible investment specialist CCLA Investment Management has entered the UK retail market with the launch of a new fund available through wealth managers and Financial Planners.
The UK-domiciled UCITS fund CCLA Better World Global Equity has been launched with £230m of seed capital.
CCLA previously only provided investment offerings to charities, local authorities and the Church of England.
The fund will be managed by co-heads of investment James Ayre and Charlotte Ryland. The pair manage over £6bn in equities.
The new retail fund will be actively managed and mirrors CCLA’s global equity strategy offered to charities since 2007.
CCLA said it launched the fund due to strong demand for ‘authentic’ ESG investments.
Jasper Berens, head of client relationships and distribution at CCLA, said: “I am thrilled to be bringing the success enjoyed by CCLA’s not-for-profit clients to the wider wealth, intermediary and retail market. This offering will appeal to those investors seeking good performance combined with a genuine and authentic approach to ESG and sustainable investing.
“CCLA is different in that our approach to sustainability is applied across everything we do and not just at an individual fund level, this allows us to have a greater positive impact.”
CCLA is currently working on getting the fund added to all UK intermediary platforms as well as several direct-to-consumer platforms.
The fund manager has offered ethical and responsible investment to charities, religious institutions, and the public sector since 1958. It has £14bn in assets under management.
