Financial adviser Andrew Sutherland, of Chorley-based True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners, is in training for a charity boxing match.
The bout is part of the White Collar Charity Boxing Event, which hopes to raise funds for Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley, Lancs.
The competition is to take place at Preston’s Guildhall on 12 May and is open to both men and women with no past boxing experience.
All would-be pugilists will have had eight weeks training before the event and will be matched against challengers of a similar weight and ability on the night.
Mr Sutherland has been training at his local Coppull gym and was said to be ready to compete against his opponents on the night.
Elaine Middleton, corporate and sponsorship fundraiser, from Derian House, said: “I’d like to wish Andrew the very best of luck in his challenge and every success at the Guildhall.
“His support will make a big difference in helping us to raise the vital funds we need to make sure we provide a lifeline for all the children, families and young adults who rely on us.”
George Critchley, chairman of True Bearing, said: “The directors and some of the staff at True Bearing will be supporting Andrew ringside on the night, while others will be helping Andrew to raise the £500 target for Derian House.
“We are very proud to support Andrew in his fundraising event and good luck to him on the night.”
