Chartered Planner's staff sleep rough for charity
A team from Chartered Financial Planning firm Unividual slept rough on the streets in Bath last week to help raise funds for a homeless charity.
They took part in the Big Bath Sleep Out for Julian House.
Unividual raised £2,217 for the homeless charity.
The Chartered Financial Planning firm had previously donated £2,000 to the charity at Christmas.
Financial Planning director Lewis Baxter and Simon Jones, a Chartered Financial Planner, were key people behind Unividual’s sponsorship of Julian House’s Big Bath Sleep Out.
Mr Baxter said: “We wanted to do the Big Bath Sleep Out to show our support for homeless people here in Bath and to help raise money for the charity. I grew up in Bath and this is something I have wanted to support for some time. We know sleeping out for one night in the cold is nothing compared to what homeless people must go through day in, day out.
“We had the solace of knowing we were going home in the morning. It is awful to think of others who don’t have that luxury. I went straight home and curled up in bed. It is a very humbling experience and something I would recommend to people. Coming in to work Monday morning I had a lot more appreciation for everything in my life and a desire to want to do more to help others.”
Unividual is a Chartered Financial Planning firm founded in 2000 with a mix of private and corporate clients.
In 2021 Cherie-Anne Baxter, strategy and marketing director, and Lewis Baxter, Financial Planning director, became equal shareholders with founding director and their father John Baxter.
The directors plan to grow their London adviser number and also launch an offshoot of the firm in Edinburgh.
