CII and CISI cancel exams for at least 1 month
The Chartered Insurance Institute and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment have cancelled exams in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The CII has cancelled all exams until the end of April and the CISI has now closed its UK test centres until 1 May with the Birmingham centre closed until 28 May.
The CII says exam dates in June are currently available for re-booking and July dates will be added in the near future.
It urges candidates to contact CII Customer Service on 020 8989 8464 to re-book.
The CII said: “Please note that our contact centre is extremely busy, and we appreciate patience. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience that this change will cause you and wish you every success with your future studies.”
Last week the CII announced plans to go ahead with multiple choice exams at pre-booked centres as there were planned to be fewer than 25 candidates at each sitting but has reviewed this in the light of government advice.
In a message to members Simon Culhane, CISI chief executive, said: “As the pandemic continues to escalate, we have decided to actively develop a number of alternative options to help candidates and firms through this difficult period.
“We are exploring options for remote invigilation for our computer-based exams and have taken the difficult decision to delay all our June narrative exam sittings to September. All affected candidates will be contacted directly.”
CISI fees for candidates rebooking an exam will be waived. Candidates can contact the CISI at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
