CII appoints industry veteran as VP for local institutes
The Chartered Insurance Institute has appointed industry veteran Brian Caruth as interim Vice President for its 55 local institutes.
Mr Caruth will also chair the Local Institute National Forum.
The forum provides a voice for local insurance institutes and feeds back details of projects, initiatives, successes and concerns to the CII group board.
Mr Caruth has been a council member for the Insurance Institute of Northern Ireland (IINI) for over 30 years.
During 2018 and 2019, he served as President of the IINI and received the Belfast Ambassador Award for working with the CII’s regional membership team to promote the Belfast region.
Mr Caruth said: “I am delighted to have been asked to serve as the Vice President for Local Institutes. I am looking forward to working with CII members across the UK to help drive forward the important work that is already underway across our 55 local institutes.”

Mr Caruth is a partner in Andrews Insurances (Life & Pensions), a council member of the Insurance Institute of Northern Ireland (IINI) and the representative for Northern Ireland & Isle of Man on the Local Institute National Forum (LINF). He also serves on the local Personal Finance Society (PFS) committee.
His career in insurance began in 1973 at Friends Provident & Century in Belfast before moving into broking.
