Delegates at the CISI Financial Planning Conference in Birmingham today heard how 60% of clients would fire their parents’ Financial Planner.
The claim was made in a stream session led by representatives of Chesterton House.
Anja Turvey, a system developer at the Loughborough-based firm, warned delegates: “More than 60% say they will fire their parents’ Financial Planner.
“What worked for the last 10 years will not work for the next 10 years.”
In a speech that explained how the firm had grown clients and staff and updated systems Ms Turvey and her colleague, Sapna Shapero, a Paraplanner, explained the associated training and retraining challenges had impacted the company.
Ms Shapero also quoted Financial Planning Today’s recent reader survey, which showed a reduction in the number of in-house Paraplanners.
She said Chesteron House had increased their Paraplanners by “training from the ground up” and explained how she had moved from an administration role to become a Paraplanner.
