CISI 2019: Financial Planning Awards winners revealed
The CISI has revealed the winners of its Financial Planning Gala Awards 2019.
Those picking up awards or commendations were as follows:
Accredited Financial Planning Firm of the Year (sponsored by NS&I)
Winner: Berry & Oak (presented by Andrew Pike, Head of Intermediary Relationships, NS&I)
Judges said: “This year’s business winner made a significant contribution to the Financial Planning profession.
“Many of the firm’s staff have worked closely with a number of schools and universities to encourage and promote Financial Planning as a profession to the next generation, and their desire to continuously improve as a business was impressive.

Certified Financial Planner of the Year (sponsored by AIC)
Winner: Christopher Hill CFP Chartered MCSI (presented by Nick Britton ACSI, Head of Training, AIC)
Judges said: “In addition to their warm and personal approach, this year’s winner had the ability to communicate technical information clearly and directly, would instilling confidence in any prospective client.”
Highly commended: Anne McClean CFP Chartered MCSI
Paraplanner of the Year Award (sponsored by JUST)
Winner: Katherine Mock ACSI (presented by Jacqueline Wilkins, Director of Intermediary Business Development and Sales, JUST)
Judges said: “A person who has demonstrated extensive experience and depth of knowledge.
“Someone who shows such positivity to the Paraplanning profession and who regularly goes above and beyond to help others and demonstrates a commitment to the wider profession.”
Highly commended: Samantha Hawken
David Norton Building Excellence Award (sponsored by Dimensional)
Winner: Lexington Wealth Management (presented by David Jones, Vice President, Dimensional)
Judges’ said: “The winner of this award has a commitment to excellence in Financial Planning which was supported by a real passion to bring Financial Planning to the wider community.”
Highly commended: Jane Smith Financial Planning
The prize for this award includes a year’s mentoring to help the firm achieve Accredited Financial Planning Firm status.
Tony Sellon ‘Good Egg’ Award
Winner: Francis Klonowski CFP Chartered FCSI (presented by James Sellon CFP Chartered MCSI, son of Tony Sellon)
Judges said: “This year’s winner has been in the Financial Planning profession for 30 years.
“They were one of the first successful people to pass the internationally recognised Certified Financial Planner licence.
“Since doing that they have helped run branch meetings, IFP Fellows’ days, been a CFP assessor and latterly helped write workbooks for CISI’s suite of Financial Planning exams and served on the CISI Financial Planning Forum Committee.”
Jacqueline Lockie CFP Chartered FCSI, CISI Head of Financial Planning said: “Many congratulations to all of our incredible winners and it is a privilege to be able to honour them in this way.
“They are wonderful ambassadors for our great profession of Financial Planning.
“The judges and sponsors send their thanks also to all those who took the time to submit entries and to those who were highly commended.”
