CISI Planning head Lockie to join global CFP committee
The CISI’s head of Financial Planning, Jacqueline Lockie CFP, is to join the prestigious Chief Executive’s Committee (CEC) of the Financial Planning Standards Board, the body which oversees the Certified Financial Planning designation around the world.
She will join for a two-year term during 2020 and 2021 and help provide advice to the chief executive, board and staff of the US-based body.
She is one of three people appointed to the CEC. The others are Osvaldo Cervi CFP, chief executive of Brazil’s CISI equivalent and Samantha Wong, chief executive of the Financial Planning Association of Singapore.
The Chief Executives Committee comprises the chief executives from the seven FPSB Affiliate organisations representing the largest CFP professional populations (United States, Japan, China, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong); three affiliate chief executives chosen by the FPSB Council; and the FPSB chief executive.
The UK has just under 1,000 CFP holders. At the end of 2018 there were 181,360 CFP professionals worldwide.
Committee chairperson and chief executive of the Financial Planning Association of Australia Dante De Gori CFP said: “All three demonstrate a commitment to leadership, cooperation and Financial Planning excellence that will enable the CEC to continue to support the FPSB Network’s focus on developing and promoting the Financial Planning profession, with CFP certification its symbol of excellence, so more consumers worldwide can benefit from competent and ethical financial advice.”
Other leadership positions announced at FPSB’s annual meeting in Zürich recently include Jeff Farrar CFP, and UK compliance expert Adam Samuel, FPSB board of directors; Paul Grimes CFP, 2020 FPSB council chairperson and Wolfgang Reittinger CFP, FPSB Professional Standards Committee.
