CISI’s Morris joins global FPSB leadership team
Christopher Morris, head of Financial Planning policy & engagement of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), will join the FPSB Chief Executive's Committee as an 'at-large representative' for a three-year term starting 1 January.
Mr Morris, Chartered MCSI, has been part of the CISI for over nine years where he is responsible for building relationships with Financial Planner members.
His appointment is one of a number of senior leadership changes for the global body for Certified Financial Planner (CFP) standards.
The FPSB is responsible for setting CFP standards for 223,000 Financial Planners around the world including about 1,000 in the UK.
On 1 April, FPSB Board member Andrea Middel, will take on the role of chairperson of the FPSB board for a one-year term, succeeding Ana Cláudia Akie Utumi.
Ms Midel is a founding partner of DURF Financieel Planners in the Netherlands and joined the FPSB Board in 2019. In addition to leading her Financial Planning firm, she has served as chairperson of the FPSB Professional Standards Committee. Awarded Financial Planner of the year in 2011 in the Netherlands, she served on the board of the Federatie Financieel Planners (FFP) from 2012-2018 and was appointed as FFP’s Member of Merit.
In addition, FPSB Board member Caroline Dabu will step up as 2025 Board chairperson-elect for a one-year term.
Emer Kirk, CEO of the Financial Planning Standards Board Ireland, will serve a second two-year term as chairperson of the FPSB European Forum.
Among other events, the FPSB runs World Financial Planning Day, which is supported in the UK by the CISI.
The FPSB first launched World Financial Planning Day in 2017 in partnership with international securities body IOSCO as part of what it called, “the global Financial Planning community’s commitment to increase levels of consumers' financial literacy and capability.”
