ONS has announced that the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) grew by 2.7 per cent in the year to September 2013, unchanged from August.
The contributions to change in the CPI from the detailed categories were relatively small compared with most months.
The largest upward contribution came from air fares, though this was offset by a downward contribution from petrol and diesel prices as fuel prices fell back slightly.
CPIH grew by 2.5 per cent in the year to September 2013, unchanged from August. RPIJ, another measure of inflation based on retail prices, grew by 2.5 per cent, down from 2.6 per cent.
These latest numbers continue the trend of broadly steady inflation seen since Spring 2012.
