Don't miss extensive Budget 2012 coverage on Financial Planner Online
All eyes will be on the House of Commons on Wednesday 21 March when Chancellor George Osborne delivers his eagerly anticipated 2012 Budget.
Against a backdrop of economic stagnation and calls to re-ignite the UK economy through tax cuts, Financial Planners and other financial services professionals will be eagerly awaiting the Budget speech at 12.30pm.
Will the Chancellor be forced to borrow more to try to reflate the economy or will he stick to his guns and make debt repayment the national priority?
Possible announcements include a reduction or abolition of the 50p tax rate, the introduction of a wealth tax, a so-called “mansion tax” and changes to the annual allowances for tax relief on pensions. Some experts have warned he could chop higher rate relief on pensions.
To help you stay up to date with the announcements on the day, Financial Planner will be reporting on all the developments as they are announced.
