Evelyn Partners acquires Bucks tax adviser
National wealth manager and Financial Planner Evelyn Partners has acquired Bucks-based Harwood Hutton, a firm of accountants, tax advisers and business specialists.
The fee for the Beaconsfield business was not disclosed.
Harwood Hutton was established in 1957 and has a 70-strong team with expertise in working with owner-managed, entrepreneurial businesses.
Andrew Wilkes, chief professional services director of Evelyn Partners, said: “Harwood Hutton’s approach of providing a fully supportive, personal service and building long-standing relationships with clients is very much in line with our culture at Evelyn Partners.
“This acquisition continues our strategy of expanding the number of business and private clients we provide our professional services to.”
Keir Singleton, director at Harwood Hutton, said: “There is a great cultural fit with Evelyn Partners, with both firms focused on understanding the needs of their clients and delivering a highly personalised service.”
The acquisition will give Evelyn a new office location in the Thames Valley and continues the firm’s strategy of selective acquisition of firms with complementary expertise to strengthen the group’s regional presence.
Last month Evelyn Partners acquired Creaseys Group, which operates from Tunbridge Wells. Before that, in February Evelyn Partners acquired Leathers LLP which operates from offices in Newcastle and Harrogate, and in April it acquired Cambridge-based firm Ashcroft Partnership LLP.
Evelyn Partners also completed a transaction with KPMG UK which saw a leading international disputes team join its Forensic Services practice.
The group said that despite a “challenging market backdrop” it generated significant new business and grew year-on-year operating income.
