Ex-FCA director joins wealth management firm
An ex-FCA director, whose career includes spells Prudential and Fidelity, has been recruited by a wealth management firm.
Victoria Raffé, who spent 20 years at the regulator, joins WH Ireland as a non-executive director.
Ms Raffé, who has also worked at KPMG, left the FCA in April 2015 after 20 years with the regulator.
Her roles at the FCA included:
• Director, Authorisations
• Member of the Executive Committee
• Member of the Executive Regulatory Issues Committee
• Chair of the Regulatory Transactions Committee.
• Member, IS Steering Committee
Ms Raffé said: “I'm looking forward to working with the WH Ireland board to help implement their vision of change and growth for the business. I am confident that my wider financial services experience will benefit the company as it looks to complete its significant transformation programme.”
She was head of department in the following areas: Prudential Insurance Policy including Solvency II; Consumer Policy and Research; Supervision of Deposit Takers overseeing banks, all building societies and all Credit Unions; Chair of the Committee of senior external contributors to the corporate governance section of the Listing Review affecting all listed companies.
She worked for Prudential and Fidelity in the 1980s.
WH Ireland chief executive Richard Killingbeck said: “Victoria's appointment will help to further strengthen the board and she will bring specific regulatory expertise and knowledge at a time when our sector continues to undergo significant change in this area.'
Ms Raffé will start her new job in 1 February.
She currently holds two banking non-executive directorships - one with Reliance Bank, and the other with Starling Bank.
