The number of female SIPP millionaires at platform and investment provider Hargreaves Lansdown rose by 31% in 2025 compared to a 16% rise for male investors.
Hargreaves Lansdown says overall its SIPP millionaires favoured tech stocks or tech-heavy funds during the year which have mainly performed well.
The median age of investors hitting millionaire status at HL has fallen marginally from 59 to 58 years.
HL has about 2m investors overall and about 570,000 of those are SIPP investors, including those in SIPP drawdown.
HL has not released details of how many female SIPP millionaires it has but says that overall 13% of its SIPP millionaires are women.
The company has £49bn in SIPP Assets Under Administration.
Emma Wall, chief investment strategist, Hargreaves Lansdown, said: “HL’s SIPP millionaires are booming – up 18% over the past year.
"Female investors are leading the charge, with a 31% increase in female SIPP millionaires compared to a 16% increase for male investors.
“And they’re all getting slightly younger, with the median age of investors hitting the magic million mark falling marginally from 59 to 58 years.”
Analysis by HL reveals that SIPP millionaires are ‘technophiles’ – packing their portfolios with fast growing companies including Tesla, NVIDIA, Apple, Alphabet, Amazon and Microsoft.
HL says the success of these firms over the past decade has helped boost clients’ retirement savings into seven figure territory.
The company says the three Legal and General trackers in the top 20 also have a tech bias to different degrees and Rathbones Global Opportunities is also a tech-heavy, actively managed fund (see table below).
Alongside these tech stocks and funds are two Artemis funds which both generated income. Also in the top 20 largest holdings is Royal London Short Term Money Market, a less risky fund. This may be due to clients derisking in retirement, HL said.
