Financial Planning Week gets under way
Financial Planning firms across the country are opening their doors to the general public today for free surgeries.
Financial Planning Week 2014 has begun, with planners aiming to raise awareness of their profession.
Dozens of firms have pledged to hold sessions to give people an insight into what Financial Planning is really all about and these will take place throughout the week.
Today, between 1pm and 2pm, the IFP is holding a Tweet Chat to discuss how the profession can do more to help people make better Financial Plans.
To take part in this Twitter users need to use the hashtag #FPWUK or by going to the online platform http://tweetchat.com/room/FPWUK.
IFP communications director Sue Whitbread said: "We're hoping that the Tweet Chat will offer many benefits including building community, making new friends, learning from others, connecting with like minds, discussing the nitty gritty of Financial Planning - and helping us to put Financial Planning on the twitter map too. Who knows, we might even get Financial Planning trending.
"Chances are you'll get more followers and visits to your blog or website if you are part of active conversations like this."

Financial Planners have been encouraged to spread the word by getting involved with local media outlets.
Raj Shah of Blue Wealth Capital in Sheffield is one who has taken up the request and he is going to be interviewed by BBC Sheffield at midday today.
