First day of Financial Planning Week kicks off in UK
Today is the first day of the fifth UK Financial Planning Week, organised by the Institute of Financial Planning.
Firms are encouraged to support the event which encourages people to improve their "financial fitness" with the help of Financial Planning.
Financial Planning practices including Fortitude Financial Planning in Northampton, Penguin Wealth Management in South Wales, Jacksons Financial Services in Penzance, Santorini Financial Planning in Leicester and Blue Wealth in Sheffield have already pledged their support to the campaign.
Large financial services organisations such as Liontrust, Sainsburys Bank, Prudential, M&G and JP Morgan Asset Management are also supporting the week.
Ideas for support include holding drop in sessions, financial surgeries, vsiting schools for financial education, writing articles for the press and giving interviews.

Rebecca Taylor FIFP CFPCM, IFP President said: "Financial Planning is not just for the wealthy, it's for everyone. These are very tough times but that just means it's more important than ever to take control of your finances- and not let them control you.
"Financial Planning Week aims to help people realise how they can make significant improvements to their finances by taking some simple steps. I'm very proud that the IFP is yet again leading this positive consumers awareness campaign to help people do just that."
