Former Apple and Tesco boss joins Octopus
Apple’s former retail chief has been snapped up by Octopus Investments.
John Browett, who was the computer giant’s head of retail, based in California, for seven months from April 2012, has been made a non-executive director.
He used to be the chief executive of Tesco.com and currently holds that title at homewares store Dunelm.
Mr Browett, who also has a non-executive director role at easyJet, was also previously chief executive at both Monsoon Accessorize and Dixons Retail.

During his time at Dixons, he was responsible for major improvements in customer service, helping the business to shape its post-internet retail offering, according to the Octopus announcement.
Simon Rogerson, chief executive of Octopus Investments, said: “Not only is John a great cultural fit, but we’re incredibly excited to have someone with his extensive retail experience joining our board. “We’re absolutely committed to making a real difference to our customers in everything that we do, and John shares our passion for customer service. I’m confident that with him on board we will be even better placed to achieve this.”
