FPSB sets date for World Financial Planning Day 2024
World Financial Planning Day 2024 is to be held in October with the aim of promoting the benefits of working with a Financial Planner.
World Financial Planning Day will run on 9 October, in partnership with IOSCO’s World Investor Week which runs from 7 to 13 October.
The FPSB's UK partner, the CISI - which runs the Certified Financial Planner designation in the UK - said it would support the day on social media but would also likely run its own UK Financial Planning day in January, to promote planning here in the run up to the end of the tax year.
World Investor Week is a global FPSB campaign designed to raise awareness of financial literacy and investor protection.
The FPSB is a global community of Financial Planning bodies representing over 223,000 Certified Financial Planning professionals worldwide including about 1,000 in the UK.
Dante De Gori, FPSB CEO, said: “We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve financial well-being. Through World Financial Planning Day, we aim to help individuals discover the importance of Financial Planning to help build a brighter and more prosperous future for all.”
During World Financial Planning Day the FPSB and local partners, such as the CISI in the UK, will aim to raise awareness about the value of Financial Planning, of having a financial plan, and of working with a Financial Planner.
Last year, FPSB and its network reached out to more than 559m people through media coverage, financial education events and social media in 21 countries for World Financial Planning Day.
Financial Planners can visit www.worldfpday.org or join conversations on social media using the #WFPD2024 tag.
The FPSB first launched World Financial Planning Day in 2017 in partnership with IOSCO as part of what it called, “the global Financial Planning community’s commitment to increase levels of consumers' financial literacy and capability.”
It aims to help the public put investment decisions in the context of other financial and life goals.
