The 34 year-old chief executive of the Suffolk Life Group has become executive director to the main board of Curtis Banks.
William Self has risen to the role just thirteen years after joining Suffolk Life, having completed his first degree in Oceanography at Southampton University in 2003.
The Suffolk Life Group was acquired by Curtis Banks, a leading Sipp provider with a portfolio of approximately 72,000 Sipps, in May this year.
Mr Self became managing director in 2013 and during 2015 was also chief operating officer of Cofunds, a sister company within L&G.
He led the strategic review during 2015, which lead to the sale to Curtis Banks in January 2016.
After joining in 2003, over the next few years he worked within a number of areas of Suffolk Life including corporate development where he was said to be instrumental in launching several propositions with multi-national insurers.
He completed his MBA from Cranfield University in 2010 and was made a director of Suffolk Life in the same year initially as operations director and subsequently as product and operations in 2012.
Chris Banks, chairman of Curtis Banks, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Will to the Board of Curtis Banks. He is an expert in the Sipp industry and has an outstanding knowledge of the operations of Suffolk Life.
“My co-directors and I look forward to working with him in the continuing growth and development of the Curtis Banks Group. “
