Grant Thornton has appointed a new head of Financial Planning to its London offices.
Martin Young will be joining Grant Thornton from Coutts & Co UK where he was a managing partner.
He also had oversight of the largest assets managed by Coutts UK private client teams including investments, deposits and lending.
At Grant Thornton he will be responsible for seven investment advisers and is tasked with ‘substantially increasing’ the team’s revenue by 2015.
National head of Financial Planning Neil Messenger said: “I am delighted Martin has joined the firm and I am excited to see how he will take the team to the next level. Martin comes equipped with vital expertise at a time of great challenges in the market and so will provide a steady hand our clients can rely on.”
Mr Young said: I am very much looking forward to joining the Grant Thornton team. In particular I aim to build on the great work already being done to establish the team as a lead adviser in the market.”
Grant Thornton currently has 14,000 private clients in the UK and internationally.
