Hargreaves Lansdown is expanding its financial adviser apprenticeship scheme to meet the growing demand for financial advice. The firm will recruit up to 12 financial adviser apprenticeships and is hoping to recruit a further 10 experienced advisers. The aim behind the apprenticeship scheme is to train and develop graduates to provide financial advice and qualify as financial practitioners within two years. Apprentices will spend time in various Hargreaves Lansdown departments and will take QCA Level Financial Planning examinations, up to QCA Level 6.
Danny Cox, head of advice at Hargreaves Lansdown, said: "Finding high quality, service-focused advisers is difficult when so many come from a sales-led background. The apprenticeship scheme allows us to develop the advisers of the future to provide client-focused Financial Planning and advice in the right way. "Hargreaves Lansdown has a tradition of employing graduates and we have Board members who started their HL careers in junior positions." Tom Campbell, a Cardiff University graduate who joined the scheme in July, said: "It's a steep learning curve and hard work but I am thoroughly enjoying it. "I am currently working within the pension transfer analysis team and studying R01. I aim to become a fully qualified financial practitioner by the end of August 2014."
