Sipp provider James Hay has announced that Iain Tait will join its board of directors. Mr Tait is currently chief information officer at the firm, a role he has held since 2010. He joined James Hay, a corporate member of the Institute of Financial Planning, from Abbey Independent Consulting Group. In 2010, Mr Tait led the seperation between James Hay and Santander Private Bank and implemented administration and online tools. Since the merger he has implemented upgrades such as web-based performance reporting, model portfolios, online adviser registration and adviser charging. {desktop}{/desktop}{mobile}{/mobile} Alastair Conway, chief executive of James Hay, said the move indicated how valuable technology was to the firm. He said: "The appointment of Ian Tait to the Board reflects the high regard in which Iain is held, not just within James Hay Partnership, but also in the industry. "Technology is at the heart of everything that James Hay Partnership does. It allows us to provide high levels of service and accessibility to both advisers and their clients. Advisers are able to access client records 24/7 and run their businesses how they want. "Iain has been instrumental in driving and implementing the changes and we continue to innovate and evolve our proposition."
