The Institute of Financial Planning is encouraging members to respond to the draft curriculum on financial education by 8 August. The draft was published earlier this month and covers what will be included in financial education classes for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils from September 2014. The curriculum was formulated by the Department for Education and Personal Financial Education Group (pfeg). The content is: Key Stage 3

Personal budgeting
Managing risk
Key Stage 4
Income and expenditure
Credit and debt
Insurance
Savings
Pensions

During this week, Financial Planners are encouraged to visit schools and explain to pupils about finance. It also supports Bamzonia which is a technology firm that creates interactive tools to build financial confidence in school pupils.
