IFP Branch Chairmen elections taking place this summer
As an IFP member you’ll appreciate the value of attending meetings at any of the IFP’s 22 regional branches. Local branches enable members in each region to share ideas and network, as well as to benefit from formal presentations and seminars on key Financial Planning topics.
It is because of the hard work of the IFP’s team of dedicated branch chairmen that this network can flourish. The IFP is particularly grateful to the branch chairmen of all 22 regions, for the invaluable help and support that they provide in running these branches for the development of the profession. Their work is entirely voluntary. Chairmen are initially elected to serve for a two year term.
In 2012, there are 10 branches where the chairmanship is up for re-election. These branches are: Chester & North Wales, East Anglia, Essex, Kent & Sussex, Lancashire and Cumbria, Leeds, London, North East, South West and
Surrey.
During May, existing chairmen of these branches will be asked if they wish to stand for re-election. While IFP hopes that they will do just that and continue their excellent work, should they wish to step down such a decision is very much respected.
The IFP also encourages others to get involved. If you’re a CFPCM professional or working towards the qualification, you too can put yourself forward for election as a branch chairman and play your part in the exciting growth and development of this profession.
It’s a great opportunity to develop your skills and build relationships with a host of experts. If you’d like to be considered, contact Rachel Weihs at IFP by 25 May with brief details of the benefits you feel you can bring to the post.
Once nominations are in, the situation is reviewed at the IFP membership committee meeting on 8 June. Final decisions are made by the IFP board. Should only one person step forward, then as long as they are approved they will be successful. Where more than one person is involved, branch members will vote for their preferred candidate via an email poll.
Members are asked to look out for emails from IFP on this subject. For more info click This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
