As a result of the IFP's 2013 strategy review meeting, the IFP board has set up a brand new consumer affairs committee.
The committee aims to help the IFP to raise consumer awareness of Financial Planning and how consumers can get sound planning advice from CFPCM Professionals and Accredited Financial Planning FirmsTM.
The committee will be chaired by IFP independent director Janet Walford OBE who spent 25 years at Money Management magazine as editor. She will be joined by Chris Williams CFPCM, chief executive of Financial Planning at Ashcourt Rowan. The IFP's Sue Whitbread and Nick Cann will also be involved.

Nick Cann said: "This is a natural path for the IFP to follow after the success of our Financial Planning Week campaigns and also our involvement in the Question of Trust campaign.
"Engaging more effectively with consumers is essential and we're really looking forward to getting positive messages out there to show the value of an effective Financial Planning service."
