The IFP Scotland branch has operated a new format this year running a meeting in Glasgow over lunch and then another in Edinburgh early evening. So far this has proven to be a success.
In March, the branch welcomed Paul Palmer, Professor of Voluntary Sector Management and Associate Dean for Ethics, Sustainability and Engagement from Cass Business School in London to talk about ethics.
This was a very entertaining session involving role play in the audience and a few questionable decisions which were soon put to rights! The case study was very thought provoking for delegates, as well as providing useful ethics CPD.
For the ‘second leg’ of the meeting Dr Matt Connell, head of UK Life Government Affairs at Zurich, discussed his views on the economy and the potential impact of Scottish independence on financial affairs.
Nicola Jackson CFPCM , branch chair commented: "This was an interesting and lively debate with many different opinions voiced around the table, a topic well worth further exploration over the coming months. Our next meeting is on 14 June and all members are most welcome to attend."
