IFP TV Financial Planning news at the click of a button
One of the new initiatives introduced by IFP for members’ benefit in 2011 has been the launch of IFPTV, the IFP’s very own online TV channel. IFPTV has been successfully developed with the help and support of London based MultiChannel TV.
Designed to provide members with access to experts from across the Financial Planning spectrum, the list of programmes has grown month by month. Feedback from members has so far been extremely positive, with the Leaders in the Profession series proving particularly popular.
Last month, IFP launched a series of films from Dimensional Fund Advisors featuring interviews with US economists Professor Kenneth French and Professor Eugene Fama – of efficient market hypothesis fame. Both talk about investment theory in particular around topics such as diversification, correlation and variance.
Whatever your approach to investment style and process, the films provide useful insight into portfolio construction and the opportunity to hear the arguments of two renowned financial economists and take on board some of the most commonly discussed investment theories around how diversification affects investment portfolio performance.
Continuing its approach of interviewing IFP members about how they run their business, Lee Robertson of Investment Quorum is the latest guest to face the cameras. Investment Quorum are Financial Planning Wealth Manager, offering a full Financial Planning service along with running an in house discretionary management service for their clients. In a candid piece, Lee lifts the lid on what he sees as the advantages to his business of doing so and gives some useful tips to others who may be considering doing the same.
Phil Billingham CFPCM of threesixty is also an IFP board member. He has long experience in helping Financial Planning businesses sharpen their client proposition and processes. This insight is brought to camera by Phil as he gives his top tips for business transition. It is designed to appeal to all firms regardless of current standing, with plenty of good ideas to help drive a business forward.
