In September, Bristol branch welcomed four excellent speakers from the national law firm Clarke Willmott, their long-standing branch sponsor.
Speakers Anthony Fairweather, Gareth Schofield and Liz Smithers provided delegates with a relevant and useful legal update which proved highly relevant to the needs of Financial Planners.
The main themes centred on updates in family law, the issues around valuing a property for probate purposes and an update on the Court of Protection and issues facing clients.

Sarah O'Grady, also of Clarke Willmott, then gave a brief talk on contentious probate matters. All the sessions proved popular with attendees.
Julian Frere CFP
CM, Bristol branch chairman, said: "Some of our most enjoyable and valuable meetings have involved strong audience and member participation. Personally, I seem to learn and develop my interests and understanding of Financial Planning issues better when there is a good debate and I hope the same goes for others too.
"I'm sure that this will continue to be the same with our meetings in 2013, where increased learning and understanding will result from discussion. I hope you will join us!"
