I recently had the pleasure of presenting at the IFP's London practice management CPD workshop, writes Damien Rylett, managing director of Brunel Capital Partners.
The audience consisted of business owners and senior individuals from Financial Planning practices. Granted, the sessions confer valuable CPD, but it never ceases to amaze me how hungry the IFP community are for ways to improve themselves and their businesses through education.
Phil Billingham CFPCM opened with a look at transitioning from a principal-focused firm to one which is planning focused. I then shared my experiences with trying to implement this within my newly established business.
Kim Bendall CFPCM of Paraplanplus then presented options around how we could integrate Paraplanning into our business while Lee Robertson of Investment Quorum shared the lessons he's learned from building an in-house discretionary portfolio management service.
Barry Horner CFPCM concluded with views on where the profession is heading with the key message being innovation.
