A working group has been formed to undertake a project to look into the future of the IFP Fellowship.
The group is keen to develop a generally accepted definition of the IFP Fellowship which goes beyond a group of people who have successfully passed these advanced examinations.
They are also exploring what the Fellows, can and should do to support the IFP and the profession of Financial Planning as well as what the IFP can do to support the Fellows.
Jane Wheeler FIFP CFPCM is actively involved with the project and reports that two things have so far been agreed. Firstly, a class of Honorary Fellowship will be introduced. Secondly, Fellows are to become involved in the writing of White Papers on Financial Planning subjects. Over time, this will build into an IFP library of reference materials.
Ms Wheeler said: “The work is well underway and we are hopeful that it will all be complete by the end of this year, after which I will report further.”
